General Hospital & Medical College At Morbi
The unique appeal of this project stems from the opportunity to build a complete medical campus that includes a General Teaching Hospital, Medical College, and Hostel (for PG and UG students). The campus model encourages research, interaction, and communication. The combination of teaching and research rooms, offices, and a library on an open campus produces a lively, appealing city environment. Students will study in the medical college (approx. 27,210 m²) and the Teaching Hospital (approx. 48,217 m²) buildings.
The huge building volume will be divided into four main functions: lecture halls, labs, offices, and a library. The divide into four discrete constructions allows for the development of appropriate space, technological, and design solutions for each function. Courtyards are an important part of the college's design to ensure sufficient air and ventilation. Outside, these buildings form a compact ensemble that connects the general hospital, college, and hostel on campus.
